Product information "Douglas Henderson"

Douglas Henderson puts sound into motion: this is one way to describe, extremely briefly, the work of the US sound artist who has been living in Berlin ever since his stay as a guest of the DAAD's artist program in that city. His oeuvre consists primarily of installations, where the treatment of sound covers the whole spectrum from (silent) sculptural suggestion to sophisticated sound distribution in space and on to opportunities for visitors to join in by generating their own noises. A second group of works comprises multichannel electroacoustic pieces that are either played at will over installed loudspeakers or performed by composers in concert-like settings. This book documents Henderson's installations and sound pieces in text and pictures, the enclosed CD features selected works, edited for stereo playback.
