Erle M. Kyllingmark In Light of the Current Moment
In Light of the Current Moment brings together a decade of work with analog triple exposures. Three separate exposures—made across different times and places—are irrevocably merged onto a single negative within the camera, without digital manipulation. Each exposure is rooted in concrete encounters with the world, yet their overlap produces an imagined reality that drifts toward the surreal. The title carries three layers: it probes what we can still trust in images, invokes the light that inscribes the negative at the instant of exposure, and invites sustained attention to the present moment. The book is conceived as a visual movement rather than a linear narrative, where meaning emerges through the sequencing of images and the resonances that form between them.
