Evru & Horst Haack From Hearsay
The Catalan artist Evru and Horst Haack have known each other for over 40 years. With the intention of completing each other's work, they exchanged half-finished drawings or gouaches over the course of more than three years. Every technique, every material, was possible, except for painting over what was already there. By mixing two sets of preferences, two styles and two temperaments, they created a third quality. Horst Haack (b. 1940) began his life's work in 1981: the Chronographie terrestre – a painted, drawn, collaged and written diary that he has continued to keep until this day. Works by Alberto Porta, alias Evru, can be found e.g. in the Museum of Modern Art and the Samuel Guggenheim Museum in New York, the Museu d'Art Contemporani de Barcelona, and the Centre Pompidou in Paris.
