Günther Kebeck/Thomas Wrede Die eine Ansicht Fotografische Bilder und ihre Wahrnehmung
Photographic images have their origin in the camera’s perspective: "the one view." The photographer selects detail and perspective, thus creating a distinct reality.
The present publication is both an artistic photobook and scientific textbook, which challenges both the viewer and the reader. Thomas Wrede’s Domestic Landscapes were created in private living spaces. Images of photo wallpaper – interiors, which are simultaneously landscape images; complex situations of "pictures within pictures." The text by Günther Kebeck does not provide any interpretation of the images. Instead, he postulates a scientific basis of their contemplation: naturalness and artificiality, illusion and reality, ambivalence and ambiguity, interior and exterior are several of the keywords. Die eine Ansicht (The One View) is directed not only at artists and photographers, but rather at all those interested in questions related to the perception of pictures.
