Hector Förderpreis Kandidaten Robert Ludwig, Pauline M'barek, Jochen Schmith
This publication presents the latest finalists of the Hector Promotional Prize, awarded to younger artists working in the field of three- dimensional art in Germany: Robert Ludwig, Pauline M'barek and the artists' collective Jochen Schmith (Carola Wagenplast, Peter Hoppe and Peter Steckroth). Robert Ludwig likes to use "poor" materials for his installations, often things he finds at his installation sites, which are likely to be public settings. Pauline M'barek uses installations and videos to explore issues involved in the museum presentation of the historical cultural goods of foreign ethnic groups. Jochen Schmith approaches the Kunsthalle space as a "collection site" and examines how values are attached to items on different levels.
