Product information "Hector Kunstpreis"

The Hector Art Prize is awarded every three years to an artist who has already gained international acclaim. This year's winner, Nairy Baghramian, intervenes in the museum realm and the public space with her customarily filigree, extremely reduced sculptures and installations. Frequently exaggerating and reversing qualities such as the contradiction between two different material languages, many of her works mark physical boundary lines. The catalog documents in detail new sculptures the artist created especially for an exhibition at the Kunsthalle Mannheim. Nairy Baghramian (*1971 in Iran) lives and works in Berlin. Her works have been shown in numerous exhibitions, including at the Serpentine Gallery in London, the Kunsthalle Basel and the Venice Biennale.
