For "Backstage Heroes", Katharina Mouratidi portrayed 40 laureates of the Right Livelihood Award. Known worldwide as the "Alternative Nobel Prize" it honors since 1980 people and organizations that have developed outstanding solutions to urgent problems of our times and who are fighting for their implementation. Internationally, the prize is recognized as the preeminent distinction for courageous personal commitment and social change. Mouratidi (*1971) is as a freelance photographer. Her photographs are included in numerous collections and have been exhibited in individual and group shows worldwide, a. o.: FotoFest Houston, George Eastman House, Lianzhou Photography Festival, Thessaloniki Museum of Photography. Since 2009 she is teaching photography at several institutions.
