La Serpara
The Italian Sculpture park La Serpara, situated in the hills near Orvieto, is an open secret. Although created for the visitor, it never forces itself on the spectator, preferring to be discovered. Swiss artist Paul Wiedmer established the garden in 1997. Wiedmer had assisted for Jean Tinguely, Bernhard Luginbühl and Niki de Saint Phalle before creating his own huge iron sculptures often combined with fire. La Serpara grows annually with the addition of works by Paul Wiedmer as well as through guest presentations and permanent loans by invited artist friends: Thomas Baumgärtel, Albert Braun, Bruno Ceccobelli, Res Ingold, Wilhelm Koch, Daniel Kufner, Graziano Marini, M.S. Bastian / Isabelle L., Attilio Pierelli, Reini Rühlin, Pavel Schmidt, Ursula Stalder, Daniel Spoerri, Daniel Braeg, Rita Rohlfin and others.
