Product information "Michaela Spiegel"

With the biographical deconstruction of the portrait of her dead mother, Michaela Spiegel’s second Instant Memoir takes us on a rollercoaster ride of female desire. Performative femininity, conditional motherhood, the upheld patriarchal scam of class and gender pass by the fabulously feminist focus of her instant camera alongside staged images of the protagonist as a mundane Viennese socialite. All instant photos are part of the Instant Memoir Archive, a chronological collection of time and approximately 30,000 private moments of female banality throughout the past thirty years.
Michaela Spiegel (b.1963 in Vienna) is an interdisciplinary artist, feminist activist and the founder of the feminist laboratory Centre Pompadour in France.
