Nicole Simon Goethe is back Spuren eines Genies
Nicole Simon brings classicism and modernity together in a fascinating dialog. Highly aesthetic black-and-white photographs of scenes from Goethe’s life merge with his poetry, expressing the timelessness of his ideals and personality. Simon’s foray into the life and work of Johann Wolfgang von Goethe highlights the complexity of his work as an artist, naturalist, humanist, and cosmopolitan. Key issues of our time are skillfully linked to his poetry, while at the same time photographic reflections and text passages from Goethe’s first-person perspective create a new reality. The book contains selected portraits and statements by well-known personalities from the worlds of art, culture, science, and sport who share a special relationship with Goethe. The photobook emphasizes the poet's relevance in the 21st century.
