Product information "Pavel Schmidt"

Pavel Schmidt paints, draws and creates installations. In this publication he manifests his interest in the manner in which our society takes possession of masterpieces of occidental art to turn them into misleading copies and objects of consumption. The exhibition presents sculptures, paintings, drawings and installations of the artist. Some of his monumental works are a direct reference to the architecture of and the artworks in the Museum Tinguely in the inner as well as outer spaces. Born in 1956, Pavel Schmidt works in Switzerland, Munich and Paris. He attended the Academy in Munich and was Daniel Spoerris assistant for a few years. In addition to his art events and sculptural work, Schmidt is also known for his drawings, which include interpretations of the works of Franz Kafka.
