Roger Rigorth Utopie der Natur
Roger Rigorth is an internationally recognized land artist who works primarily with the element of wood. For over thirty years, the trained sculptor has been creating extraordinary interventions in nature. Bizarre vehicles present themselves in the form of allegorical boats, tirelessly dancing wing mobiles, or floating »beehives.« Rigorth’s projects are not only works of art, but also expressions of a philosophy in which art and nature are in a symbiotic relationship. The lavishly illustrated volume Utopie der Natur presents remarkable works from the past twelve years, complemented by Rigorth’s drawings and enriched by poems by the award-winning poet Ishmael von Heidrick- Barnes. The land artist has created numerous works for international sculpture symposia, impressively demonstrating his creative power in working with wood and other natural materials.
