Product information "Sigurd Rompza"

The artist Sigurd Rompza (*1945) occupies himself not only with the practical execution of his artistic works, but also with their theoretical context. This collection of his published essays and working notes demonstrates the intellectual correlations he has developed with reference to his works. Of special interest are his "working notes," some of them published for this first time in this book. Rompza jots down his thoughts, ideas, ponderings about his art and on the works of other artists; he asks questions, confirms or contradicts statements made by others; or he describes what he is interested in achieving at the moment. Brief notes, often consisting of just a few catchwords, encourage the reader to wonder about perception, about the act of seeing, and to rethink his view of things.
