Product information "Simon Pasieka"

Simon Pasieka's large-scale works spirit viewers away to mysterious lands inhabited by young people on a quest for their own identity. Far away from the adult world and freed from civilization's constraints, they try out different lifestyles in an effort to find out who they are and redefine themselves accordingly. Moments evoking a "different", happier life are mixed in with depictions of landscapes and nature scenes. With his paintings and black ink brush drawings, Pasieka has created his own unique pictorial cosmos. This publication accompanies exhibitions of the artist's work at the Städtische Galerie Delmenhorst, Kunsthalle Göppingen and Galerie im Taxipalais, Innsbruck, providing an impressive overview of Pasieka's work. Simon Pasieka (*1967) studied with Malte Sartorius at the Hochschule für Bildende Künste in Braunschweig. His work has been featured in numerous national and international solo and group exhibitions and has received several awards and distinctions. Pasieka lives and works in Paris and Cologne.
