Struggel for Life Artenwandel und Artensterben im Anthropozän
We are today in the midst of the sixth major wave of species extinction in Earth's history. The reasons can be found in factors caused by man during the last 150 years, above all climate change and the intensive land use brought on by explosive population growth. The ERES Foundation selected eight artists of international renown who treat the many facets of this theme in their works, which range from drawing to sculpture, video to installation. The title, Struggle for Life (Charles Darwin), is intended to convey that the fight for survival and for scarce resources has become a routine part of life in our globalized world, and that dealing with it calls for new cultural answers.
