Product information "Thomas Hirschhorn"

Thomas Hirschhorn (*1957), one of the most controversial of contemporary artists, was invited by the Kunsthalle Mannheim to install one of his oversize sculptural environments there. The overflowing accumulation of objects and pictures is a typically anarchic commentary by the artist on globalized late capitalism and present-day sociopolitical conflicts. Since the mid-1990s, the frequent biennial and documenta participant has been working with ephemeral conglomerations of material – in prestigious institutions as well as in the socially troubled areas of big cities, creating artistically conceived places of encounter and memorial sites.
