Ulrike Lauber Einfach da Fotografie
Ulrike Lauber’s photography is a pure pleasure in looking, guided by a clear conceptual approach that has taken shape over more than two decades of intensive engagement with the medium. Based in Berlin, Lauber is originally trained as an architect—successful in her profession, yet equally passionate in her work with the camera. Her photography carries an almost meditative quality: Lauber discovers the extraordinary in the small, the sublime in the seemingly banal. In passing, she captures lines, colors, patterns, and structures whose fragmentary framing could easily be discussed within the context of Minimal Art. Ultimately, in the spirit of László Moholy-Nagy, her work is concerned with seeing itself. Her oeuvre functions both as a school of seeing and as a visual experience—an invitation to sharpen one’s own perception through her selective gaze.
