Product information "Wilhelm-Hack-Museum"

In the course of the 20th century people's perception, and therefore the depiction, of the world changed in a fundamental way. This is due in no small part to technical developments such as new reproduction processes and increasing digitization. Visible reality was dismantled and reassembled in a new way. The smallest entity with which it is possible to re-arrange and portray the world as a picture is the dot. Such dot-based pictorial and representational systems are the theme of this catalog, which presents a cross section reaching from the Pointillism of Paul Signac and Paul Klee, to off- set and screen printing as exemplified by the art of Roy Lichtenstein and Sigmar Polke, all the way to the pixels of our present day.
