Product information "Wolfgang Heinen"

PAARunPAAR by Wolfgang Heinen is a conceptually designed photo book whose content consists primarily of visual compositions made up of double-page spreads of images and texts rife with word play. "What interests me is creating correlations. Images that relate to each other – in terms of content, form, perceptual qualities (such as sharpness / blurring), or on the page." (Wolfgang Heinen) The double-page spreads are complete photographic short stories in their own right, but Heinen also generates across the entire length of the book a coherent dramaturgy, with quieter and louder passages that refer to one another, as well as moments of surprise. The linear nature of the book, which is to be leafed through conventionally from front to back and is hence viewed in a certain order, contrasts with the random perusal of individual images on the Internet. The photographs in PAARunPAAR display a high degree of abstraction, eschewing anything superfluous.
