Product information "Wolfgang Müller"

This publication paints a multifaceted picture of today’s Romani youth and young adults. Many of the protagonists portrayed face their challenges with a rebellious attitude. The Romani women’s band Pretty Loud, for example, mixes traditional music with rap and sings explicitly against early marriages arranged by parents. Why should they remain silent, they ask in one of their songs, as long as they continue to face the rigid expectations of their society? Same-sex relationships, the freedom to choose one’s own gender, and the rights of minorities are also topics addressed by the young Romani.

Wolfgang Müller studied photography in Arno Fischer’s class at the University of Applied Sciences Dortmund. In his documentary photography, he focuses primarily on people who are on the margins of society.
