Product information "Abraham David Christian"

This book documents the extraordinary exhibition by Abraham David Christian in the Gothic church of St. Maria Magdalena in Tiefenbronn. In the majestic, sacred space of the Gothic church with its famous altars by Lukas Moser and Hans Schüchlin, the artist realized this exhibition in cooperation with the Enzkreis district. On view are works including Christian's Interconnected Sculptures and the eight-part sculpture Torri del Silenzio. The artist designed these pieces in his workshops in Manhattan, New York, and Hayama, Japan, and they were then cast in bronze in Enzkreis. Abraham David Christian is one of the leading representatives of postwar abstract art. The sculptor took part in the documenta in 1972 and 1982 and is represented in numerous important private collections and museums in Germany and abroad. His sculptures and drawings can be found for example in the public space in The Hague, in the National Museum of Modern Art in Tokyo, in Museum Ludwig in Cologne, and in the National Gallery in Berlin.
