Product information "Brücke-Museum Berlin"

This book makes the world of art come alive for children aged ten and older while introducing them to the life and pictures of the artist Karl Schmidt-Rottluff. Karl Schmidt-Rottluff (1884 – 1976), co-founder of the "Brücke" artists' group, is regarded as one of the key representatives of Expressionism. Pure, unmixed colors and a starkly simplified formal language are hallmarks of his work. Starting with a box carved by the artist himself and packed full of pictures and photos, the young reader embarks on an imaginary journey. It takes him to the sea and the city in search of places that inspired the painter – places where there is much to discover. Not only children and young people, but adults, too, will enjoy getting to know a whole new side of the great Expressionist on this journey while playfully acquiring insights into the world in which he lived and worked.
