Product information "David Parker"

Myths and legends have often been inspired and shaped by geologic landforms and similarly, British photographer David Parker uses the natural world as an arena for the personal exploration of new mythic, symbolic, and metaphoric motifs, a theme he previously developed in the award winning book The Phenomenal World (2001). Building on this work, Myth and Landscape brings together images from Sirens and New Desert Myths, two larger projects created in parallel and sharing a common esthetic. For Parker the siren song is a call to contemplation, and his pictures chart many fascinated encounters with an enchanted world of forgotten archetypes, further exploring the tension between the temporal and eternal in our secular age. David Parker (b. 1949) lives and works in Surrey, UK. His work is housed in many important corporate art collections such as Citibank, N. M. Rothschild & Sons, Goldman Sachs, as well as public and private collections and has been shown at many international venues.
