K49814 Atmen ohne Pause
Atmen ohne Pause is intended as a testimonial and a book of memories, and also as a hymn to life. It tells of beings living in foreign bodies, "who breathe and are will." And of how humans took possession of them. The photographer, who works under the pseudonym K49814, lived with them in the wilderness, saw them dancing for joy, heard them breathing, and was with them when they slept. She saw the same bodies in factories, slaughterhouses, and at extraction plants. These image and text fragments inquire into those who have been given numbers, have been hidden away, and have vanished. The pictures make them visible as beings that had a history, and bear witness to the fact that they once breathed upon this Earth as the first articulation of the will to live.
