From forms appropriated from culture and observations of nature, Klaus Lomnitzer devel-ops new constellations, which invite and chal-lenge individual decoding. Whereas, in exhi-bitions and catalogs of reverse glass painting, related paintings have thus far been the center of attention, this publication provides the first concentrated overview of Lomnitzer’s series of works on paper. The visually broad spec-trum offered by the various work groups alter-nates between sensitively applied reduction and organized exuberance in order to combine these into a reflective overall cosmos. The eponymous exhibition in the Kunstmu-seum Marburg focuses on two series of works, the astonishment of the nuthatch at its exis-tence as a woodpecker titmouse and above-below the molehill.s
