Product information "Leta Peer"

The fusion of the media painting and photography to one overall concept, for many years now the elementary characteristic of Leta Peer's artistic strategy, also determines her procedural approach in "Along with Simon". The point of departure for the paintings are photographs, taken in the late 1990s, by her late brother Simon. For the Mirrors series, Peer inserted her oilpaintings based on her brother's photographs – mounted in gilt baroque frames – into the derelict ambience of a demolished bakery, a symbol, as it were, of the abrupt end to a mode of our own existence. Swiss artist Leta Peer (1964 - 2012) has continuously shown her work at international galleries, museums and art fairs.
