Product information "Peter Jacobi"

In the course of over forty years, sculptor Peter Jacobi has put together an extensive body of work. In the 1960s and 70s he worked with his partner at the time, Ritzi Jacobi, to create large-format textile reliefs which were exhibited in museums worldwide. For the past 30 years or so he has been devoting himself to the themes of transience, the search for clues, and memory. The individual works in each group are interconnected in multiple dimensions and in terms of process, with photography and sculpture in particular entering into an inextricable reciprocity. This book accompanies a series of exhibitions marking the artist's 75th birthday and is designed to present the diverse facets of his oeuvre. A Holocaust memorial Jacobi (*1935 in Ploesti, Romania) designed for Bucharest was dedicated in 2009.
