Anja Jensen Tatort
The German photo artist Anja Jensen (b. 1967) engages in her photographic works and installations with scenarios of watching and being watched. Since 2001, she has been staging eerie scenes set at dusk or in the glow of artificial light, in natural landscapes or urban environments, that verge on voyeurism and criminal surveillance. These magical visual riddles, resembling film stills, show individuals or groups wrapped up in an ambiguous activity, as if caught in the act. The motifs in each case have been carefully laid out by the artist. Unfamiliar situations often set the scene for ideas that are condensed through close cooperation between the protagonists of diverse origins and the artist into an imaginary storyline. The photo book provides an overview of Jensen's work over the last ten years, resulting from projects undertaken by the photo artist in Germany, the USA, South America, Poland, China, Turkey and Sweden, and shown in those countries and throughout Europe in numerous solo and group exhibitions.
