Die Sammlung Hartmann Im Auftrag der Schrift

Brigitte and Gerhard Hartmann's art collection is uniquely dedicated to the relationship between literature and the visual arts. Authors are invited to entrust handwritten manuscripts to the collection; the collectors then pass these on to selected artists as inspiration for their work. This creates an exciting interplay of writing and image that allows for singular aesthetic explorations. The collection comprises more than 100 combinations of writing and image, counting almost 1,500 works in total. Artists: Jürgen Brodwolf, Ulrike Draesner, Arno Geiger, Christoph & Markus Getzner, Peter Härtling, Günter Kunert, Reiner Kunze, Friederike Mayröcker, Vera Ida Müller, Steffen Popp, Heidrun Rueda, Rolf Sackenheim, Wolfgang Stifter, Yoko Tawada, Hans Ticha, Andreas Töpfer, Alissa Walser, Martin Walser, Uljana Wolf and many others
