Klasse.Buch. 64 Positionen aus der Klasse Eißfeldt

Dörte Eißfeldt has been teaching fine art with a focus on photography at the Braunschweig University of Art for more than 20 years. During her tenure there, she has trained many students who have gone on to become artists of national and international standing. For most graduates of her class, photography is the focal point of their practice, but the wide range of other media and approaches they employ – film, painting, video, sculpture, and text – also offers opportunities to step outside of photography and explore and reflect on it as a discipline. An artistic position emerges that is essentially nourished by the respective photographer's own experiences and memories as well as by contemporary currents. Photography is an ideal medium for this purpose; a medium that is very closely related to and interdependent with all the other arts. This publication provides the first survey of works by graduates of Eißfeldt's class. The album of illustrations also includes a number of texts on selected positions, as well as the first chronicle of the 20-year history of the class. Artists: Christine Biehler, Andrea Böning, Isaak Broder, Johanna Daab, Nadine Decker, Susann Dietrich, Lisa Domin, Jan Paul Evers, Andrea Geyer, Alexandra Heide, Samuel Henne, Birte Hennig, Delia Keller, Nina Maria Küchler, Matthias Langer, Mirko Martin, Ingo Mittelstaedt, Esther Neumann, Christian Rethschlag, Schüler, Bernd Schulz, Erik Seth, Sascha Weidner, Florian Wüst et al.
