Kristof Georgen Sound

Since the late 1990s, sculptor Kristof Georgen has been working with sound in the context of public spaces. In recent years, he achieved recognition with site-specific sound installations that re-chart the relationship between seeing and hearing. Georgen's installations have been featured at venues such as Bodycheck – the 10th Fellbach Triennial in 2007, and at the Donaueschingen Music Festival. Picking up on sounds and noises at the installation site and combining these with acoustic, visual and narrative elements, the artist develops audio pieces and listening spaces. This publication presents the first overview of Georgen's acoustic works as well as it is documenting his latest exhibition projects.
