Maxine Henryson Red Leaves & Golden Curtains

In Red Leaves & Golden Curtains, American photographer Maxine Henryson explores the role of the feminine in the world, examining the differences and similarities between cultures. Taken in the United States, France, Germany, Belgium, Italy, Poland, Russia, India and Cambodia, the photographs represent intimate moments when the external reality mirrors the photographers internal reality. Henryson has been exhibiting since the 1990s through out the United States and Europe. Her expressionistic color photographs have been called "the new painting" by Mario Kramer, curator for the Museum für Moderne Kunst, Frankfurt am Main.
