On June 12, 2019, Anne Frank would have turned 90. To do justice to her memory, young people must be taken seriously and their perspectives strengthened. Since fi ve years, the Anne Frank Educational Center art competition offers a special opportunity for this, time and again inspiring young people all over Germany to deal creatively with topics that were also close to Anne Frank’s heart: exclusion, hostility, and hatred. But also human rights, democracy, and the hope for tomorrow. The art competition developed its own dynamic: Entire school classes participate, project days are organized, letters in which the pupils describe their thoughts, their interest in an open, diverse society, their criticism of inequality and exclusion. The catalog provides an overview of fi ve years of young art at the Anne Frank Educational Center.
