Sebastian Meschenmoser Sets

Many of Sebastian Meschenmoser’s paintings appear surreal and richly associative, but they are one thing above all: narrative. This is arguably why Meschenmoser’s working method can be characterized by the term “work cycle.” A theme is set, determining both the form and the content, and then developed using several approaches.
The fundaments of Meschenmoser’s art are defined: A propensity for the bizarre, paired with a likewise droll humor. But most notably, his work is characterized by a great formal discipline.
